About us
Andrea Rojas
@andreainloco
I grew up in Bogotá, Colombia. My first love was volleyball… I. Played in high school and the Bogotá league, later I did rock climbing and contemporary dance while studying Arts in Colombia’s National University... All this to say… I love it all! I love learning, nothing makes me happier… I left Colombia a couple of days after receiving my Batchelor’s degree and came to the US not really knowing how life would unfold and somehow finding so much confort in my new found freedom! In the years that followed I got lost in the grind; I had a wonderful life in NY working with architecture photographers, eating and drinking to my hearts content, indulging in every way I pleased but neglected to continue feeding that silky side of me that beats to the drum of my own wondering heart… I found myself drained and exhausted. It was then that met a yogi that would change my life forever. I saw in him something I had never seen on anyone else, a sort of vibrancy, an open heart… a smile that melted my own heart. And so it began my way back to my freedom loving, curious, impetus self.
My teachers are the biggest blessing in my life. In New York my journey began with Bhakti yogis, monks devoted to self inquiry and loving devotion taught me to meditate and to honor the body without which this journey isn’t posible.
My first ashtanga teachers Guy Donahaye, and Eddie Stern ignited the fire that my heart chosen teachers John and Julia Scott keep alive today. Everything has been given to me, and now it’s time to let all that flow in you… if you’ll let me.

Hi, I'm Jenny. I am a woman in love with life and with the beautiful people who have came to mine in planned and unexpected ways. I worked as a journalist for almost two decades covering complex situations of physical, emotional, individual and collective trauma, and 15 years ago I found in yoga a definitive door to my own healing. Today I know that the path of self-knowledge and spirituality is an unequivocal guide on how to live well and beautifully. With ups and downs, of course, but with a world of possibilities ahead.
Four years ago I understood that there is nothing more beautiful than sharing what I have learned, than guiding others in listening to that internal guru who has the answers to all our concerns. I went to India to do my Yoga Teacher Training in two renowned schools in the towns of Rishikesh and Mysore and since then I have been able to teach in places like Nepal, Sri Lanka, the United States, Argentina, Italy and of course my native Colombia, where I returned almost two years ago. I recently spent three months in Europe deepening my yoga and meditation practice with dear teachers who always remind me that I am an eternal student of myself.
I am a tireless traveler because my curiosity about the world is infinite, but from all the places I go, what I specially keep in my heart are the experiences shared with the sisters I met: the women in my life are the greatest gift of the Universe . Now I teach at Anahata, a magical retreat site where I am looking forward to welcome you with all my love.
The origin story of Shakti Connection:
Do you want to hear something magical? We were blessed the day the Universe put us together in the same place. It was in Mexico in March of this year, when Andrea and I coincided in an Ashtanga Yoga retreat, the beautiful discipline that connects us in different dimensions. Both Colombians, both deeply connected to our feminine energy we welcomed each other into our lives. That was a first beautiful encounter in which just a moment and not an entire life, was needed to click and understand that we can listen and support each other, that women's circles are a powerful force where love and compassion have no limits. We shared medicine together, we laughed, we sang, we hugged, we cried. We made a date to meet again in another retreat in Portugal in August and there we decided to embark on this adventure together for the same reason we practice and teach yoga: if there is something that makes us happy, how not share it with others? how not open the doors of this tribe to other sisters who need this connection in their spiritual search... After all, we are all ONE. And so, here we are for you, saluting the divine that lives in your soul, from the divine that lives in ours. Namaste.
